LaFargeville NY… Caprara’s Can-Am along with
Rent-A-Wreck, Clarence Henry Coach, Bach & Co, Sundance Leisure,
Performance Automotive, STAT Communications and Thousand Islands
Plumbing and Heating presented racing action on Saturday, June 07, 2008.
In competition were the Big Block/358 Modifieds, Sportsman, IMCA, Street
Stocks, Purestocks, Thunder Cars and Mod Lites. In the Big/Small Block Feature event, Ryan Bartlett and Scott Webb led the field to Matt Burdick’s green flag with Ryan Bartlett taking early command. Chris Higgins moved high around Scott Webb as the two waged a heavy battle for the second position with Higgins coming the victor coming out of turn two. Tim O’Brien moved out around Pierre Dagenais coming out of turn number two to take over position number four. Scott Parliament moved high around Chris Higgins to take position number four while Jason Potter followed Parliament to take 5th on the field. Scott Webb moved to the outside of Ryan Bartlett to take the lead on the field while Scott Parliament moved under Tim O’Brien coming out of turn number four for position number three. Tim O’Brien moved under Ryan Bartlett as Bartlett slowed coming out of turn two, giving O’Brien position number two. As the checkered flag dropped, Scott Webb would pick up the win while Tim O’Brien and Pierre Dagenais would complete the top three. Christine Martin and Terry Gould led the field of Sportsman cars to the green flag with Christine Martin leading the field while Tom Conklin and Mike Mandigo filled the top three positions. Tom Conklin moved high around Christine Martin coming out of turn number to in order to take the lead of the 20 car field as Mike Mandigo also moved around Christine Martin to take position number two. Mike Mandigo moved high around Tom Conklin on a lap five restart to take the lead while Brandon Sweet moved by Ally Amell for the third position. Josh Van Brocklin slid under Ally Amell moving into turn number three to command the fourth position while Mike Mandigo looked to stretch out his lead over Brandon Sweet. When the checkered flag fell, Mike Mandigo would pick up the win while Brandon Sweet and Tom Conklin would round out the top three. In the IMCA Modified Feature, Scott Thayer and John Carr together made up the front row in the 20 lap feature event. Scott Thayer jumped out to the early lead while Chris Thurston dropped to the inside and moved into the second place position while John Carr filled out position number three. Carr would then move under Thurston moving into turn number three to take over the second place as Ryan Scott began to create a solid lead at the front of the field. JJ Coursy moved under Ken Rogers to take over the fourth position as the yellow flag flew on the field. When green flag racing resumed, JJ Coursy moved to the outside of Chris Thurston and John Carr to take the second position as Rick Duskas settled into position number five. Rick Duskas slid under Chris Thurston going into turn number two to capture the fourth position as John Carr and JJ Coursey staged a battle for position number two. As the checkered flag dropped, Ryan Scott would capture the win while John Carr and Rick Duskas would complete the top three. Dave Pope and Jarrod Radley sat on the front field in the 15 lap street stock event. Dave Pope took early command while Jarrod Radley and Todd Raabe filled out the top three. Jarrod Radley moved under Dave Pope to take the lead on the field while Todd Raabe and Josh Verne also took advantage of moving past Pope for the second and third positions. Josh Verne moved to the outside of Todd Raabe coming out of turn two to take the second spot while Verne began his pursuit of Jarrod Radley. Verne moved to the outside of Radley going down the front stretch which set Verne up to take the lead going into turn number one. As the checkered waved, Josh Verne would pick up the win while Jarrod Radley and Todd Raabe complete the top three. In the Thunder Car Feature, David Blair and Michael Stewart led the field to green with Stewart using the outside to his advantage to take the lead. Zach Petrie moved under Michael Stewart to take the lead while Jock Symonds and JR Durham filled out the top three. Durham would move under Stewart to take the lead while Zach Petrie and Jock Symonds also juggled positions. Robert Martin would move to the outside of Jock Symonds to take the third position. JR Durham would go on to collect the win while Zach Petrie and Jock Symonds round out the top three. In the Purestocks, Scott Lampson and Mike Blair led the field to green with Mike Blair taking the lead while Kevin Smith and Scott Lampson filled out the top three. Mike Blair would go on to pick up the win while Kevin Smith and Al Harris completed the top three. In the Mod Lite Feature, Johnny Chaulk and Wyatt Mullin led the field to green with Mullin taking the lead. Charles Oliver and Bryan Green moved around Johnny Chaulk to take over the second and third positions while Johnny Chaulk and Tiger Chapman rounded out the top five. Meanwhile Wyatt Mullin continued to lead at the front of the field as Bryan Green attempted to close the gap between first and second. As the checkered flag dropped, Wyatt Mullin would pick up the win while Bryan Green and Charles Oliver rounding out the top three. Next week at Can-Am a regular show will be in action with the DIRT Modifieds, DIRT 358 Modifieds, DIRT Sportsman, DIRT Street Stocks, IMCA, Purestocks, Mod Lites and One on One Spectators.
